Umlauf is inspired by a visit to Ludwig Leo’s Umlauftank 2 in Berlin. Umlauf, which translates to circulation, is a pairing of sinuous tubular volumes linked together by a proprietary joint. The mirror is a static interpretation of this idea of flow — images move fluidly across every surface of the piece.
